Alumni mentoring software

Help alumni find relevant advice without arranging every introduction

An alumnus asks for specific career advice or an introduction. Alumnia finds eligible alumni in the same institution’s network and reaches out automatically for suitable requests. Each person chooses whether to take part. This is mentoring between alumni, including recent graduates.

Demo school mentoring request with an illustrative career question and introduction status

1. Ask for a specific kind of help

A verified alumnus describes a decision or question: moving into a new field, preparing for a first role, or understanding a career change. They choose to share the request so relevant alumni can respond. Start with a clear question and useful career context; leave out confidential details. The screenshot shows an illustrative request in our fictional demo school.

2. Find experience within your own alumni network

Alumnia uses the request and available alumni profile information to find relevant experience among eligible, verified members of the same institution. For suitable requests, outreach happens automatically, so staff do not have to arrange each introduction. A small network or incomplete profiles can limit who is available; some requests need review or may not find a suitable alumnus.

3. Let both alumni choose the conversation

The alumnus invited to help can accept or decline. When someone accepts, an introduction opens the conversation in Messages. Before someone accepts, the person asking can withdraw the request. They cannot withdraw an accepted introduction. After an introduction, they can close the topic if it helped or ask for another perspective, subject to availability. These are specific advice and introduction requests; your team still defines commitments and follow-up for any longer formal mentoring program.

Start with an eligible graduate cohort

Invite alumni who are ready to join, verify their membership and check that mentoring is enabled in your institution’s network. Encourage useful profiles and one clear request rather than promising everyone a mentor. The Free plan includes the core platform up to 100 verified members; availability depends on your network’s configuration. Paid plans charge a flat monthly fee by verified-member capacity. Staff and administrators count, regardless of recent activity; imports and pending invitations do not.

Questions about alumni mentoring

Do staff approve every mentoring introduction?

No. Suitable requests can lead to automatic outreach to eligible alumni. Some requests need review, and a network can retain a review workflow. Availability depends on the institution’s configuration. Alumni still decide whether to participate.

Can recent graduates participate? Is this for current students?

Recent graduates can ask for help and share their own experience with other alumni. Alumnia’s mentoring is alumni to alumni, rather than a current-student mentoring program. Participants need a verified profile and verified membership in the same institution’s network.

What happens if no suitable alumnus is available?

A request may need review or may not find a suitable alumnus. Relevant experience and willingness to help depend on the members in your network. An introduction, reply, ongoing mentoring relationship or career outcome is not guaranteed.

What information is used, and who controls the request?

The specific request and available alumni profile information help identify relevant experience. The person asking chooses to share the request. Before someone accepts, they can withdraw it; they cannot withdraw an accepted introduction. After an introduction, they can close the topic if it helped or ask for another perspective, subject to availability. Alumni invited to help can accept or decline. Avoid including confidential information in a request.

Does Alumnia manage a structured mentoring program?

Alumnia supports specific advice requests and introductions between alumni. If you run a longer formal program, your team still sets duration, expectations and follow-up. This workflow does not promise a curriculum, session scheduling, assessment or completion certification.

Is alumni mentoring included in the Free plan?

Yes. The Free plan includes the core platform up to 100 verified members, with mentoring availability dependent on your institution’s configuration. Paid plans have a flat monthly fee by verified-member capacity. Staff and administrators count even without recent activity; imported records and pending invitations do not. See the pricing page for every USD monthly tier and custom Enterprise terms.
